Quinn Rooney Shakespeare Scholarships

Quinn Rooney Shakespeare Scholarships are awarded to students attending Shakespeare Academy @ Stratford.

Mighty Quinn Foundation scholarships at Loyola University of Chicago

Quinn attended Loyola University Chicago and was a student in the Department of Fine and Performing Arts.  Recipients of the The Mighty Quinn Foundation scholarships are Josh Bartlett, Ali Drumm, M.J. Jones, Becca Browne, Seamus McMahon, Spencer Gjerde, and Anna Joaquin. 

Anna is seen in this beautiful video and conducted an independent study this past semester  on the intersection of race and performance. Joaquin said that she wanted to study how race interacts with performance due to recent casting controversies in the Chicago area, as well as conversations she’s had with friends discussing whether it would be appropriate for them to perform a pieces written for a character whose race differs from their own. 

"I wish I could adequately express my thanks for this generous gift, but words fail me. I could not be more grateful, or more honored to receive this scholarship in the name of Quinn. I am honored to continue my education in the theatre arts in his name."
